Journalist Alan Nixon claims that Sunderland’s unnamed manager candidate is foreign and an ambitious ambition for the Black Cats.
The club does not want the situation to continue until the summer, thus they are hoping to name a new manager soon.
Several names have been brought up in relation to the role, such as Rene Maric, Will Still, Danny Rohl, and Paul Heckingbottom.
However, rumors have it that Sunderland is considering a candidate who hasn’t been discussed in relation to the position before.
More information about that candidate has now surfaced.
The man in question is reportedly a foreign manager who is not at the moment present in the UK.
Despite the fact that he is available, Sunderland is thought to be aiming high for him.
He has been pursued by the North East side as a managerial target, and they may need to persuade him to accept the position.
This season, Sunderland ended six points above the drop zone in 16th place in the Championship.
