QPR has announced that they’ve opted to extend Jimmy Dunne’s contract. The 26-year-old defender, who joined from Burnley in 2021 on a three-year deal with a one-year extension option, has been a significant presence with 101 Championship appearances for the R’s. His noteworthy contribution includes a memorable late goal against Birmingham City, who were later relegated, aiding QPR’s Championship status.
Although primarily a centre-back, Dunne has shown versatility, impressing in a right-back role under manager Marti Cifuentes.
Expressing his delight, Dunne stated, “I am really happy to be staying at QPR. Everyone knows how much I love this club and everything it stands for. This has been a tough season, a real roller coaster, and I am looking forward to the break but am also excited about the future.”
Additionally, the club confirmed the departure of Osman Kakay, who is set to leave upon the expiration of his contract.
