Report: Rangers do not have option to bring international playmaker, 25, to Ibrox this January

Ianis Hagi is on loan from Rangers, and if the team wants to get him back in January, they will have to work out a deal with Alaves.

The 25-year-old Romanian playmaker is currently on loan with the La Liga team through the conclusion of the current campaign; the Rangers contract does not include a buyout option.

Ianis Hagi was loaned out during Michael Beale’s tenure at Ibrox, and there were rumors that the new Belgian manager, Philippe Clement, would want to bring him back during his first transfer window.

The discussion grew more heated when prominent Rangers supporters Heart & Hand revealed that the Romanian player’s Alaves contract contained an option.

It’s crucial to emphasize that when questioned if the club might bring Hagi back in January, the outlet only responded, “We can, would be up to boss.”

Ianis Hagi Alaves’ contract has no loan clause.

Rangers have been in January for about a week and a half, and not much has been spoken about Ianis Hagi’s decision to extend his loan with Alaves.

Football Scotland now asserts that this is because the loan agreement does not include a January return provision, meaning Rangers will need to speak with Alaves to get the midfield player back.

Football players often have mid-season loan return clauses in their contracts; Liverpool left-back Owen Beck, who is linked to Rangers, is one example of this. However, it appears that this particular player does not have one.

When Ianis Hagi was healing from a serious cruciate ligament injury, he first orchestrated the loan move out of Ibrox due to a lack of guarantees around playing time.

Nothing to recommend Rangers desire a comeback.

It is important to remember that, despite the fervor of discussion about Ianis Hagi and a possible Rangers comeback, there has been no indication from Ibrox that this will occur.

In fact, when asked by a reporter from the Turkish media, Philippe Clement stuck to his principles and declined to comment on the state of affairs.

After suffering a severe knee injury last season, the former KRC Genk player inked a new deal at Ibrox that will keep him with the team until 2026.
