According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement to send midfielder Jose Cifuentes on loan from Rangers to Cruzeiro is practically finalized and scheduled for signature shortly.
On Sunday, February 4, the Italian journalist tweeted that the Brazilian team and the Germans had verbally agreed on a temporary swap for the Ecuadorian international.
The 24-year-old chose the South American team over two offers in Europe, he said, because he wants to be a consistent starter for the forthcoming Copa America.
Philippe Clement’s Ibrox plans do not include Jose Cifuentes.
Rangers had no need to keep Cifuentes around when it was obvious that he was not part of Philippe Clement’s plans at Ibrox.
