With over a million Twitter followers, sports digitale writer Yagiz Sabuncuoglu asserts that members of the Turkey international’s entourage have stated that no agreement has been reached with any side.

The Ibrox team turned down a loan deal from Galatasaray, according to a report published in The Scottish Sun on January 14.

According to Turkish Football, Sabuncuoglu stated on the Sports Digitale YouTube channel: “He turned down Galatasaray’s offer. Ridvan Yilmaz is still playing right now, and Philippe Clement doesn’t want to lose him to Galatasaray on loan. We don’t currently have an arrangement with any teams, Ridvan’s entourage informed me when I spoke with them as well.

Let me explain: Galatasaray must lend him money through an ordered purchase. They don’t go below €5 million for this. They will approve his sale and release him if a direct offer of €5 million (£4.3 million) or more is made. For now though, Ridvan is having fun.

“Ridvan is a professional on the present team that the Rangers are currently in need of. Although there isn’t a circumstance where they wish to get rid of Ridvan, that is the perception.

“The Verona move has been discussed; let’s not overlook them. They will purchase Ridvan if they sell their left back. The foreign press has reported on the cancellation of that move.

Rangers may be reluctant to let Yilmaz go immediately because they want to take a calculated risk in trying to find a replacement.

The club’s ideal situation would be to retain the Turkish star past January, since Philippe Clement has stated that he would like Yilmaz to stay but hasn’t actually confirmed that he will.

Yilmaz’s high £4.3 million price tag may be used as a negotiating chip to make sure the Gers are fairly compensated.

Rangers appear to be in a good negotiating position based on their insistence on a mandatory buy for a loan arrangement in the continuing negotiations with Galatasaray.

The Gers will be able to compare the two clubs’ proposals and possibly start a bidding war as a result of Verona’s possible interest.

Yilmaz seems to be determined to go as things stand, which makes sense considering how little playing time he is receiving.

In other Rangers news, there has been an update on the £4.8 million bid as progress is made in the Gers’ attempt to add a January player.
