Billionaire-owned club now front queue to sign Rangers player in deadline-busting deal – reports

Rangers transfer news as Brighton emerge as frontrunners for Archie Stevens

Brighton have now emerged as frontrunners as they’re ahead of everyone else in the queue to sign Rangers attacker Archie Stevens, per the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper reported on its website on 26 January that the Premier League outfit are favourites to sign the 18-year-old.

Daily Record reported (26 January, 20:36), the Seagulls are keen on sealing a deal before the January transfer window shuts.

Hot prospect

Despite being just 18. the winger has already made his senior debut for Gers over 12 months ago when he featured in a 3-1 League Cup victory over Queen of the South at Ibrox.

Since then, he has been playing for the B Team and has been impressive, which is what has got him on Brighton’s radar.

The Premier League side, owned by the billionaire Tony Bloom, will not have any issues in handing the Englishman a massive hike in wages.

If the pull to play in the best league in the world is not enough, he can see the track record of the many youngsters that have moved to the Amex.

The likes of Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister, among others, arrived at Brighton as relative unknowns and are now household names in English football.

Rangers

Rangers, of course, will want to do everything they can to keep a hold of the attacker, but if he’s got his head turned with a move south, he may look to force an exit.

In other Rangers news, clubs have now made contact with Gers as another first-team player appears set to be leaving the club soon.
