Wolves manager Gary O’Neil does not have Rangers loanee Fabio Silva in his future plans, and Wolves will accept an offer for him this summer, sources told Football Insider.

Football Insider reported on Tuesday, April 2, that Wolves still need to balance the books in order to meet their Financial Fair Play obligations, so the Ibrox club will inquire about a potential cut-price move for Silva.

Following his signing for a then-club record £35 million in 2019, a reliable source has now informed Football Insider that the Molineux club may now suffer a “huge” loss on the young Portuguese player this summer.

That would make it possible for Rangers to finalize a long-term deal with the 21-year-old, who has impressed greatly since arriving at Ibrox in January.

In January, the Glasgow giants’ manager Philippe Clement had already stated that he intended to sign Silva permanently, but he was “too expensive.”

Rangers have an opportunity as Wolves prepare to absorb a “huge” loss to Fabio Silva.
However, Wolves manager O’Neil has now determined that the young player will not be a member of his team moving forward.

This season, Silva has made 15 appearances for Clement’s team and scored 4 goals, 7 of which have come from the starting lineup.

In his 72 appearances for Wolves since joining the team from his childhood club, Porto, he had only scored five goals.
Silva’s arrival has made Rangers a contender for the Scottish Premiership title this season; with a game remaining against their rivals, Clement’s team is only one point behind Celtic.
In other news, the Rangers have finished signing two appointments in advance of their summer hiring binge.
