Rangers have confirmed their participation in the 2024 SuperCupNI, as the region’s rising talent strives for glory.

The Glasgow club has participated in the prestigious competition on a regular basis for the past ten years. In 2019, they were crowned Junior champions after Charlie Lindsay, who is currently on loan from Derby County at Premiership outfit Glentoran, motivated the young Gers to victory in their final match against Charlton Athletic.

Victor Leonard, the tournament president, is thrilled to have Rangers participate. The Ibrox club made it to the showpiece showdown again the following year before losing to Cherry Orchard. Rangers last enjoyed Premier success in 1992 when they overcame Nottingham Forest.

“I know that Rangers matches are among the best attended matches during the tournament, and they have a huge fan base in Northern Ireland,” he said. “We are excited to have the Academy return this summer. They have been tremendous supporters of the tournament and we have built strong relationships with them over the years.”

This summer, Hamilton Academical, a Scottish team, will make its Premier division debut. Two other teams are also starting their maiden SuperCupNI endeavors.

After Tigres UNAL made it to the Premier final last summer, Deportivo Toluca is looking to carry on Mexico’s recent success in the competition. Meanwhile, Shoshi High School from Japan is traveling to Northern Ireland for the first time.

The dates of the 2024 SuperCupNI are July 21–26. On July 21, there will be the customary parade and opening ceremony. On Friday, July 26, the competition will come to an end with finals day.
