“Onto…,” a Rangers player says following an injury against Hearts in a fresh fitness hint.

Following his injury sustained during the Light Blues’ Scottish Cup victory over Hearts at Hampden Park, Rangers forward Abdallah Sima has spoken out.

Rangers: Sima breaks injury silence in cryptic fitness update

The Gers defeated Celtic 2-0 on Sunday, April 21, to secure their spot in the championship game. Cyriel Dessers’ braces either side of halftime kept the slim chances of a domestic treble alive at Ibrox.

Sima, a Senegalese international on loan from Brighton, hobbled off after just 15 minutes due to a hamstring problem, dealing a fresh blow to Philippe Clement’s team early in the first half. However, Sima has hinted that he will play in the final.

He shared the Light Blues’ post on Sunday, April 21, along with a picture of himself practicing at Hampden and the caption, “Onto the final.”

Is Abdallah Sima healthy enough to play for Philippe Clement and Rangers against St Mirren?

Sima has been a revelation in the Light Blues’ front line and has not looked back since moving to Glasgow. So many of Michael Beale’s summer acquisitions at Ibrox struggled to adjust to the Scottish game.

In just 17 Premiership starts this season, the 22-year-old has scored 11 goals; the majority of those starts have come from wide positions. Though he hasn’t played as well as he could have given his previous injury some time to heal, he is still one of Clement’s more dependable wide players.

Rangers Abdallah Sima

Maintaining his fitness until the end of the season was always going to be crucial to the Gers’ championship hopes. If the Brighton loanee misses any more of the season after this most recent setback, it will be a huge blow.

I hope he won’t be out of the game for too long. Even though his post is unclear, it does seem to indicate that he plans to return before the season is out. Rangers and Clement need Sima to be healthy and available because Scott Wright is no longer in the picture and Fabio Silva isn’t playing well.
