Hibs spots 16-goal former Brighton striker as Rangers thrash Hearts in the elimination game.

The most recent transfer news as the January transfer window draws near from Hearts and Hibs.

According to reports, Hibs has entered the competition to sign Ben Wilson, a former member of the Brighton & Hove Albion academy.

According to The Belfast Telegraph, Hibs have expressed interest in the league’s top goalscorer along with three other Northern Irish Premiership teams. Despite not finding the back of the net in his team’s 2-2 tie with Glentoran on Saturday, the 22-year-old is still atop the rankings with 16 goals in just 20 league games this season.

Wilson began his career with England Premiership club Brighton and Hove Albion but failed to make a senior appearance for the Seagulls before joining Cliftonville on a free transfer at the end of last season. He has hit the ground running at Solitude and there have been reports the Reds are looking to fend off interest from elsewhere by handing the striker a new deal.

The report suggests Wilson’s form has captured the attention of several clubs in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and could be lured away by the offer a full-time football.

Rangers roared over Hearts’ rejection.

Following their inaction in the summer transfer window to pursue Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, Rangers has been accused of displaying “a bit of snobbery.”

Before his first full season in command at Ibrox, former manager Michael Beale had a busy close season trying to expand his options at the top of the pitch. Before players like Cyriel Dessers, Danilo, and Sam Lammers signed in agreements reportedly worth a combined £14 million, a number of options, including Scotland striker Shankland, were taken into consideration.

Stephen McGinn, a pundit, stated that Rangers lost out on a potential striker by failing to look closer to home. McGinn cited three previous instances of attackers who were successful at Ibrox after signing with Premiership rivals.

Regarding the Shankland to Rangers rumors, McGinn stated on The Go Radio Football Show, “There’s a bit of snobbery in this country.” I understand that you might be able to find celebrities who will be in the country for four or five years if you travel overseas.

However, if you examine their recent number nines. Ange Postecoglou was well-versed in Kyogo, while JJ was well-versed in Morelos. We’ve had huge foreign acquisitions who haven’t clicked, including Klimala, Ajeti, Dessers, and Danilo this season.

“When you consider that over time, what is the issue with hiring a short-term employee—guys who have worked for other clubs—? Similar to Steven Naismith, Kris Boyd, and Leigh Griffiths, these players came from small clubs and have worked for Celtic and Rangers in the past.
