Coventry City have completed the signing of young defender Kain Ryan.
Ryan leaves Brighton & Hove Albion in February and signs with the Sky Blues.
The 19-year-old center half will first play for City’s Under-21 team after agreeing to a contract extension with the Sky Blues through June 2025.
After being signed by the Rams since he was eleven years old, Kain left Derby County to join Brighton in November of 2021. Before moving up to the Under 21s at the start of the 2023–24 season, he spent a season and a half with the Seagulls’ Under 18s.
The child declared, “I’m really happy.” For me, it’s a fresh start and a new chapter, and maybe I can go from here.
All I want is to return to playing football, play as many minutes as I can, and reach my previous level of performance.
I’m eager to get going because I’m excited about what lies ahead for me at this wonderful period in my life.”
