Mark Robins faces concerns over injuries as four players could be sidelined for the final run-in, with one player set to consult a surgeon.

Mark Robins is facing the repercussions of Coventry City’s packed fixture schedule, fearing that he could be without up to four key players for the remainder of the season due to injuries.

Following Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, Fabio Tavares and Victor Torp sustained significant injuries, ruling them out of Wednesday’s 3-2 defeat against Hull. During the match, Luis Binks had to leave the field due to an Achilles issue, while Joel Latibeaudiere aggravated a calf problem he had been managing.

Tavares’ injury is of particular concern, as Robins explained, “Fabio has sustained ligament damage to his ankle and needs to undergo a surgical opinion to determine if surgery is necessary.” Torp, on the other hand, tore a stomach muscle, causing too much pain for him to play against Hull.

Regarding Binks and Latibeaudiere, Robins expressed uncertainty about the severity of their injuries. Binks felt discomfort in his Achilles during the game, while Latibeaudiere’s calf issue resurfaced. Robins admitted that it wouldn’t be surprising if they missed the remainder of the season.

This setback is disappointing for both Tavares and Binks, who had been performing well recently and were expected to feature in the remaining games. Robins acknowledged Tavares’ contributions and expressed hope for a speedy recovery, emphasizing the need for him to maintain fitness.

Tavares sustained his injury during a collision with Manchester United players, resulting in ligament damage. As for Binks, Robins praised his improvement throughout the season despite limited opportunities.

The extent of Binks’ injury is yet to be determined, but Robins highlighted his qualities and expressed disappointment at the timing of his setback. However, if available, Binks would still have a role to play in the team.

Overall, Coventry City faces a challenging situation with several key players potentially sidelined for the crucial final matches of the season.
