After winning the match against Coventry City and receiving praise from the away fans, Hull City’s Wednesday night hero Noah Ohio claims to have been the recipient of a call from England and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.
Just one week after the City forward was on the field as Real Madrid easily defeated Manchester City in the Champions League quarterfinal, Bellingham witnessed from Madrid as his close friend Ohio came off the bench to poke in the game-winning goal at the CBS Arena 12 minutes from time and seal a thrilling 3-2 victory against their play-off rivals.
After Jaden Philogene and Fabio Carvalho’s penalties put the Tigers ahead, Coventry twice fought back, and it appeared that both teams would settle for a draw, which would have eliminated their respective play-off hopes, until Ohio forced the ball into the net.

The friendship between Ohio and Bellingham goes back many years, to a time when the two were teammates on England’s Under-16 squad. Ohio believes that seeing a player of Bellingham’s calibre benefits him personally.
“We communicate on a daily basis and check in on each other,” he said to Hull Live. “I’m having fun watching him play every game. Now that he’s a significant member of the team, it speaks volumes about him as a person and the character he demonstrates on the pitch. It also highlights the importance of his performance in those crucial games. Now, let me take it from there.
“Even today, we have to perform actions that we normally dislike in order to win the game, such as dropping deep into a low block, but as we saw again when Real Madrid played (Manchester) City, they had to perform actions that they disliked, and those are the best players in the world; you have to give up things for each other.”
