Ephron Mason-Clark, a forward for Peterborough United, was loaned back to London Road by Coventry City after a late-winter transfer was completed in January.
Late on the day of the deadline, Coventry City confirmed Mason-Clark’s transfer. The 24-year-old will play the rest of the season with Peterborough United after the transfer was revealed as having cost an undisclosed amount.
Subsequent reports verified the specifics of the agreement, with Posh agreeing to reduce the transfer fee to £4.25 million in order to retain their star player for the remainder of the season. For a League One player, the deal is expensive, but Mason-Clark has all the makings of a star in Sky Blue right now.
A thrilling augmentation for Robins and company
Coventry City would have welcomed Mason-Clark for the second half of the Championship season. He appears prepared for the jump to the second division already, since he is a gifted and deadly attacker.
He has occasionally appeared to be a step above the opposition for Peterborough United. Mason-Clark, who can play anywhere in the front three but is usually used on the left, has already recorded an incredible 18 goals and 11 assists in 44 appearances this season across all competitions, and he still has plenty of opportunity to add to that total.
In addition to his incredible speed, which will make him a threat at any level, he also boasts strong attacking instincts and skill with the ball. Even though he’s only 24 years old, he’s already skilled enough to make an impression on Mark Robins the moment he formally joins his new team in the summer.
‘Popular and integral’ Coventry City coach is targeted by an MLS team.
A fresh revelation reveals the rationale behind Chelsea’s unexpected transfer decision to join Leicester City.
Mason-Clark’s top goal is to leave Peterborough United on a high note. He has become a popular character with the Posh because to his 28 goals and 21 assists in 90 appearances.
They are currently ranked fifth in League One and are actively vying for promotion. With seven points separating Darren Ferguson’s club and automatic promotion, they have won four straight games and have at least one game in hand on every team above them.
As he says goodbye, Mason-Clark will be driven to motivate Posh to an unforgettable promotion. He has all the makings of a Coventry City star, regardless of how the season plays out.
