Celtic vs. St Johnstone, a Premiership match, will see Brendan Rodgers and Craig Levein select their starting lineups.
The Rangers won’t play until Sunday when they visit Dundee, thus the champions have an opportunity to reclaim the top spot in the league if they can win all three games on Saturday afternoon.
In the meanwhile, the Saints want to create some breathing room between themselves and the playoff spots up for relegation.
With nine games remaining in the title race, Celtic is now two points behind the Ibrox team; a victory would put them ahead of the pack before attention shifts to Dens Park.
Ross County, who are now in second position and host Hearts in third place, is four points behind St Johnstone.
With three games remaining before the split, Levein’s team may even have a chance to finish in the top six with a victory at Celtic Park.
They are now seven points behind Dundee, who are in sixth place.
After losing their most recent Premiership game on the road at Hearts two weeks ago, the Hoops are eager to go back to winning ways in the league.
Reo Hatate, Liam Scales, and captain Callum McGregor are still absent, although Cameron Carter-Vickers is back in the starting lineup following his absence from the team’s Scottish Cup triumph over Livingston last week.
In addition to Kyogo Furuhashi replacing Adam Idah in the starting lineup, the USA defender will captain the team.
Joe Hart has been Rodgers’ first goal scorer, behind a defence that includes Greg Taylor, Alistair Johnston, Carter-Vickers, and Stephen Welsh.
