After an uneven first season back at Parkhead, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers will be eager to bolster his team in the summer.
Throughout their 29 Scottish Premiership games, the Bhoys have conceded eight goals, which isn’t a sign of a team playing at its best.
In order to move the Bhoys forward under his leadership, Rodgers insisted that Parkhead sign “quality” players before the January transfer market opened.
But only Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn appeared in Glasgow’s east end during a sluggish month for market activity, which left many fans disappointed that more players didn’t show up.
Joe Hart’s retirement from the game means that Celtic will be looking for a new goalkeeper in the summer.
Beyond that, advocates appear to concur that a team restructure might be necessary by 2024–2025.
However, it’s unclear who would be in charge of carrying out this operation given that Joe Dudgeon and Mark Lawwell are leaving shortly.
Callum O’Hare, the Celtics’ rumored target, has choices.
Callum O’Hare, a midfielder for Coventry City who is available on a free transfer at the conclusion of the season, is reportedly being watched by Celtic.
Scouts from three unidentified La Liga teams were present last Friday to see the 25-year-old in action against West Bromwich Albion, where the hosts prevailed 2-1 thanks to a goal from on-loan Bhoy Mikey Johnston.
O’Hare’s manager, Mark Robins, has been speculating about his future and thinks he might hold out for a transfer elsewhere. Rangers are reportedly interested in O’Hare as well.
According to Robins, who was quoted by the Coventry Telegraph, Calum wants to keep his choices open, and that’s his prerogative. I think everyone has realized that by now.
“We have made him an offer of a contract, and it’s a nice one, but he wants to leave his options open to see if any Premier League teams are interested in signing him—whether that’s if we make it into the Premier League or not.
“It’s his prerogative to keep things open, but I believe all options are on the table.”
Celtic would be better off adding Callum O’Hare.
According to Transfermarkt, O’Hare has made 23 appearances for Coventry this season in all competitions, tallying nine goals and dishing out four assists, showcasing his usefulness in the closing third.
The fact that Fulham, Everton, and Southampton are also eager to pounce suggests that the Hoops are not the only team who is impressed by his possible availability on a free transfer [The Sun]
Though we’ll learn more about O’Hare’s potential future in the upcoming weeks, Rodgers and company will need to put up a strong case to try to lure him north of the border.
