After Adam Idah was signed, Celtic might try to recruit another offensive player, using the free agent market to find a replacement for Brendan Rodgers once the transfer window has closed.

Ryan Rowe of The Scottish Sun claims that Celtic might not be done there and that they might be lured in by the opportunity to capture Dwight Gayle on a free transfer following his release from Stoke City. However, having already welcomed Idah, Rangers, Old Firm rivals, would be the front-runners to sign the former Premier League forward should he decide to head towards Scotland for his next move.
At Celtic, “clinical” Gayle is not required.
Even though there would be no risk involved in the move, there are still concerns about whether Celtics need Gayle or any other backup to lead the line this season, particularly in light of the signing of Idah. Given that Kyogo Furuhashi is now heading the line as well, it remains to be seen if Idah, who is 29 years old, can ever receive meaningful playing time this season.
Gayle is going to be looking far and wide for a new club in an attempt to get out of his free agency position as soon as possible.
