Chris Sutton Ridicules Michael Beale’s Derby Record

Chris Sutton is back at it again, stirring the pot with Michael Beale following Sunderland’s recent loss to Newcastle.

In his first showdown as Sunderland’s manager in the Tyne–Wear derby, Beale watched his team fall 3-0 to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle, bumping them out of the FA Cup’s fourth round.

The defeat, marking Sunderland’s first derby in eight years, was a tough pill to swallow, especially with Newcastle seizing all the glory.

However, Sky Sports pundit Sutton, couldn’t resist poking fun at Beale on social media. The ex-Celtic forward, known for his sharp tongue, suggested the match was as lopsided as many of Beale’s high-stakes derbies while he managed The Rangers.

In a cheeky tweet, Sutton compared the recent defeat to Beale’s underwhelming record against Celtic, where he managed just one victory in six tries.

That lone win against Ange Postecoglou’s side came last season when the Scottish Premiership title was already snug in Celtic’s trophy cabinet, a season that saw the Hoops triumph with a Treble.

Sutton and Beale’s relationship is non-existent. The former Ibrox boss tried to make fun of Sutton’s spell at Chelsea as a player last year; they’ve had their share of jabs during Beale’s stint with Rangers.

Chris not missing the opportunity to stick the knot in.
