Hearts and Celtic officials: Scottish Cup referees Confirmed, in Role Reversal.

Angry Brendan Rodgers criticized referee Robertson and VAR Beaton for two significant rulings that went against Celtic in Sunday’s 2-0 loss at Tynecastle. In the aftermath of Yang’s controversial red card and the Jambos’ fortuitous penalty—though the visitors were also given a soft spotkick—Rodgers accused the SFA pair of costing his team the match.

On-field referee Robertson first gave Yang a yellow card for a high boot on Alex Cochrane, but after a protracted VAR review, the booking was quickly increased to a red. After Tomoki Iwata was unjustly punished for a handball, which resulted in Hearts’ first penalty, the Celts were left reeling.

Todd Cantwell Rangers injury return is getting closer, as the player promises to be “back soon” to the supporters. Football Scotland Rodgers unleashed an incredible post-match interview, calling the decision-making process the worst he’s ever encountered. The Northern Irishman’s unexpected reaction caused Celts to write a letter to the SFA voicing their concerns about veteran Beaton’s involvement in the incident-filled match.

It’s now official that Beaton will return to the field for Saturday’s quarterfinal at Pittodrie between Kilmarnock and Aberdeen, with Robertson filling in as fourth official. John McCrossan and Andrew Dallas will handle VAR duties.
