The £3million recruit from Rapid Vienna in January knows to expect thanks to his former RANGERS agent and manager Christian Nerlinger who was instrumental in the German winger joining the champions.
Khun is beginning to show glimpes of the form expected of Brendan Rodgers’ signing who experienced a false start following his alarming weight loss after extensive dental surgey which left him strugging to cope with the pace of the Scottish game and the expectation levels of the fans.
The 24-year-old flanker has picked up speed in recent weeks and he scored his first goal in Paradise in the 3-1 win over St Johnstone last month.
He is aware of what lies ahead in a crucial confrontation having spoken to his personal manager Nerlinger, who was signed by Dick Advocaat in 2001 and spent three years at Ibrox before being released by Alex McLeish.
Now Kuhn’s sights are trained on Sunday’s encounter against Philippe Clement’s side he said: “Christian has told me a lot about the game and I think now he’s a Celtic fan! He told me a lot about Celtic and told me what a great club it is.“Of course, we have pressure, but I have played already at Ajax and Bayern. They also want to win the league and every trophy there. I am really looking forward to the game against Rangers.
“I have heard a lot about the game already and now I am happy and hope to get a chance to play. My manager told me how important the match is to the people.”
Kuhn, speaking to the Daily Record, continued: “I want to play every game, but we have a really good team and everyone is challenging each other.
“So, that is the most important thing for the team, that everyone who is behind is giving pressure to the other one.
”For me personally, it took some time to get into the new system and everything. But now it feels like it’s getting better and better with every game.
“I’m happy that the weight is back and I have the strength to go over 90 minutes. I’m maybe not 100 per cent just yet, but it’s getting better.”
Kuhn also paid tribute to his new set of supporters and, after their solid backing in the 3-0 victory at Livingston on Sunday, he added: “It was unbelievable. It felt like a home game.
“The fans were great. For Sunday, we need to focus on ourselves.
“We have to take points and make good games now. We’re in a good place. We feel happy about what is coming.”
