‘He was very good’… Brendan Rodgers said one Celtic player was ‘fantastic’ in win over Dundee last night

What a victory it was last night, and to be very honest, I’m still not sure where that performance came from.

Now, I know that we saw a hint of it during the second half of Sunday’s victory over Motherwell, but, really, not a single Celtic fan could have predicted it last night.

Rangers’ lead in goal differential over us at the top of the league is erased by a seven-goal thumping of Dundee, and even though they barely prevailed 2-1 at Kilmarnock, there will be unease at Ibrox upon hearing of this outcome.

The fact that every member of that Celtic team was exceptional is what most pleases me. It is difficult for a man to find fault with any of their performances.

However, Celtics manager Brendan Rodgers saved his greatest compliments for one player, who he acknowledges was having trouble at the beginning of the campaign.

The Celtic performance by Hyunjun Yang was adored by Brendan Rodgers.

The South Korean winger’s lack of form earlier in the season was one of the reasons the Celtic boss singled out the player for appreciation last night.

Yang arrived in Glasgow looking like a player lacking confidence, but Rodgers had no problem pointing out that Yang was excellent last night.

According to Rodgers, Yang was outstanding, as reported by BBC Radio Scotland. Once more, it’s fantastic to see him because the young right wing back has been a genuine threat to him and caused him problems early in the season.

However, I thought he was excellent tonight. He was incredibly inventive both inside and out.

“But all in all, it was quite satisfying that, as I mentioned, the manner of is always significant.”

Yang appears to be regaining the form that had Celtic part with £2 million for him in the summer.

And the timing couldn’t have been more ideal. When it comes to the ball, the 21-year-old appears bold and eager, and if he plays like that against Hearts on Sunday, you wouldn’t bet against the Bhoys leaving Tynecastle with three more crucial points.
