Former Chelsea and Celtic striker gives 'massive' Newcastle United vs West Ham prediction

Chris Sutton thinks Newcastle United will win all three points this weekend by “edging” past West Ham.

It’s being hyped as a six-pointer for the European spots in a massive Premier League matchup. With one game remaining, the Hammers lead Newcastle by four points at the moment.

Eddie Howe’s team winning will rekindle optimism that the Magpies can have a successful season finale.Although playing in the Champions League seems impossible, Newcastle may still have a strong season if they make it to UEFA’s second division.

However, the Magpies are up against a strong West Ham team that includes players like Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta, and Jarrod Bowen. The latter, who tied the score in the last seconds of the rematch in October, is questionable due to injury, but the Irons still have a lot of offensive firepower to threaten.

Former Blackburn Rovers, Chelsea, and Celtic striker Sutton picked Newcastle to win in his monthly BBC column. He said: “It seems like a major finish to their season for their manager Eddie Howe, since Newcastle’s dreams of winning a trophy were dashed when they were eliminated from the FA Cup before to the international break.

“The same is true for David Moyes, the manager of West Ham, since there has been a lot of rumor and criticism over his future. However, the Hammers are still in Europe and will play Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League quarterfinal. Meanwhile, Newcastle’s season has taken a turn for the worst in recent weeks.

“Now, Newcastle’s only goal is to finish in the league, and I don’t think Howe can afford to let this campaign end.” With a game remaining, they are four points behind West Ham in seventh place, therefore a victory tonight would be crucial for them.

I always think they can score. I believe they will win because of this.
