Former Aberdeen manager Keith Wyness has suddenly become quite critical of Brendan Rodgers and believes the Celtic board should replace before he destroys the team.
Having endured a difficult second season under manager Aaron Rodgers, Parkhead now faces a fight to recapture the Premiership crown against a Rangers squad that is on the rise. The team’s recent performances have been uneven; they lost to Hearts two weeks ago and needed a late comeback to defeat Livingston in the Scottish Cup. The summer’s erratic signing record hasn’t helped either.

Though it’s fair to say that thus far, it hasn’t been the victorious comeback that many Celtic supporters had in mind when the former Invincible Treble-winning boss was announced as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement, their destiny is still in their own hands. Additionally, Wyness, who held high positions at Everton and Aston Villa in addition to serving as Aberdeen’s CEO from 2000 to 2004, launched an unexpected tirade at the Irishman.
“I wouldn’t be surprised to see a change in manager in the off-season,” he said to Football Insider. I’m not sure if Rodgers was the best choice. It’s not a joyful journey. Indeed, it appears that the shortcomings have occurred on the field. They appear to have been playing poorly in a few really important games.

“I believe that the footballing side is what I would be concentrating on to find answers because if you’re not first in Scotland, you’re nowhere.” I don’t feel sorry for Rodgers. Being an experienced manager, he was aware of the situation he was entering.
That contributed to his allure. I believe he’s wasting his time. It will be quite difficult to regain it following this unpleasant beginning. I believe he will be out of there in a year or two, even if he wins the league.
