It has been suggested to Celtic supporters that they should be relieved that Alexandro Bernabei is going because it may provide a chance for young players to break into the first team.

That’s the opinion of Stephen McGinn, who maintained that Mitchel Frame ought to be given a chance to play for the first team after being called up from the Lowland League B squad. After spending £3.75 million from Lanus in 2022, Bernabei is expected to leave Celtic Park on loan for SC Internacional before the Brazilian transfer window shuts. This is because he was unable to compete with Greg Taylor for a starting position at left defense.

sole nine appearances have been given to the 23-year-old by Brendan Rodgers this season, but the Argentine was Taylor’s sole logical replacement on the left side of defense should the Scotland international sustain an injury during the Scottish Premiership title matchup with Rangers. Though the Hoops’ backing has expressed concern that they are currently out of choices, Falkirk skipper McGinn is adamant that it is the proper decision to let the misfit go.

He expressed his happiness at his departure to Go Radio. Upon examining Alexandro Bernabei—and I know this sounds harsh—I saw that, when it comes to left backs, the size is the first thing you notice. You notice his size right away and assume that he is far too little to be a defender.

“You then assume that he must possess exceptional ball skills. He is quite erratic with the ball. He has good crosses and bad crosses at different times.

“In the games he’s recently played for Celtic, he frequently has possession of the ball when it breaks down. He moves quickly, but not very quickly. He is poor in the air, as demonstrated by the goal he just lost, and he is unable to protect his back post.

“When you look at somebody like Mitchel Frame within the building, he must have qualities that make him a better fit to play for Celtic, right? Furthermore, I don’t think he will play between now and the end of the season given his current state. I anticipate that Liam Scales, Mitchel Frame, or Anthony Ralston will be deployed as cover.
