What do you think of Derek Adams’ most recent remarks made following the game, in which he declined to say that he regretted going back to Ross County?

KEITH: We ought to show Adams the door. His tantrums surely tingle Roy MacGregor’s toes, as does his denial of any responsibility whatsoever for his players’ performances. It hasn’t gone well.

ANDY:He seemed to be getting ready to make a sudden turn. It’s one thing to slaughter the Scottish football standard, but it’s another to turn on a team that you depend on to keep your job. If Roy MacGregor is feeling similar regrets, then I wouldn’t be shocked.

FRASER: Although Adams has just been back for 63 days, it seems like he wishes he had refused to come back after listening to his interview on Saturday night. He had the chance to respond, “absolutely not,” when asked if he regretted anything. However, he did not answer the question, and that said a lot.

Illness kept Lawrence Shankland away from Hearts, but do you think he’ll be at Tynecastle when the window closes?

KEITH: Shankland might have been sick, but considering the situation, he ought to have made sure he showed up for the tie on Saturday. He gives the impression of a man working his ticket by tossing in a sicky.

ANDY: In agreement. He’s playing at his best and would undoubtedly be worth a major move, but all the talk these days seems to be about Rangers, and I just don’t see the Ibrox board spending several million on a 28-year-old, especially since they won’t likely be able to recover much of the money they lost on Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers last summer.

FRASER: Indeed, I do. However, that may have more to do with this month’s dearth of significant offers. Hearts must fiercely cling to their talisman in order to fulfill their own European dreams. Perhaps a move might be agreed upon in the summer by all parties.

This Tuesday, the Premiership resumes after its winter break. Do you notice any mistakes made by Rangers against Hibs?

Keith: Not at all. They will undoubtedly have their hands full trying to come back with three points across the M8, but Philippe Clement has some key players back in the lineup, and a victory at Easter Road will give the Belgian team impetus heading into the second half of the season.

ANDY:It’s a major challenge for the squad led by Philippe Clement. It will be more difficult without Connor Goldson because of his suspension, but if Rangers can win this trip to Easter Road without making any mistakes, it will make a big statement about their aspirations to win the title.

FRASER: It won’t be the 4-0 romp that Philippe Clement experienced against Hibs in his Ibrox debut. On their home field, Nick Montgomery’s team is difficult to beat. I could see a score draw in this one.

KEITH: A transfer to Ibrox is still very much on the cards, and the Shankland situation will need to be properly monitored. However, Celtic will also be very busy in the coming days. Before the market closes, Brendan Rodgers should secure a No. 9 of his own.

ANDY: Although Celtic could need a striker and a few full backs, their main hope is that Matt O’Riley is not approached by a suitor with a large sum of money. Hearts must be alert and prepared to respond in the event that Shankland does arrive late, and Rangers truly need a more dependable leader than Cyriel Dessers.

FRASER: I anticipate that Hibs will score three or four more points. However, only Celtic has the financial clout to take any unusual action when it comes to large sums of money or well-known players. The next week and a half should be exciting because Brendan Rodgers has not stopped talking about great acquisitions.
