With nine league games and, perhaps, three Scottish Cup fixtures left before the season’s thrilling conclusion, Greg Taylor believes Celtic can still contend.

Callum McGregor, the team’s captain, will not be available for tomorrow’s match against St Johnstone; however, Cameron Carter-Vickers, his acting captain, is expected to fill in at center defense.

Due to the absence of the team’s two on-field leaders in recent games, it has fallen to the more experienced Hoops players, including Scotland international Taylor, to assume more of the duty and speak up more.

“I don’t know if it’s about talking more, I talk regularly as it is,” the left-back remarked.

However, I recognize that taking on new tasks and responsibilities is a necessary part of being one of the more seasoned employees and staying a little longer.

We talked about it during the previous game, which is significant because Callum is definitely missing. In addition to Cameron, who is presumably a different kind of leader, there is our captain, who is the most talkative, the leader, and a gifted speaker.

“I believe we realized that it’s crucial that the rest of us try to help when they’re gone because he leads by example.”

Liam Scales, a defender for the Republic of Ireland, is the most recent player to withdraw due to injury, forcing manager Brendan Rodgers to rearrange his starting lineup once more.

“You would prefer to have strong relationships and to be continuous,” Taylor continued in an interview with Celtic TV, “but this season it’s been chopping and changing in terms of injuries, myself included.”

We’ve all been frustrated by that, including the manager, but it’s just a part of the season and what it takes to be a football player.

“Therefore, you just need to look at each game as it comes and quickly form the new partnerships.”
