Maik Nawrocki won’t be playing for Celtic on Wednesday against Dundee.Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Motherwell saw the 23-year-old get off to a strong start before Cameron Carter-Vickers, a summer acquisition, was substituted by Brendan Rodgers.

Now, as per Scott Burns of the Daily Record, the defender needed extensive treatment following the victory at Fir Park and was unable to train on Monday. According to the source, the midfielder will miss the midweek match against the City of Discovery, Tony Docherty’s visitors, as the Scottish Champions attempt to earn three points on an evening when Rangers visit Rugby Park.

Whether to start Carter-Vickers alongside Liam Scales in the center pairing, with Stephen Welsh and Gustaf Lagerbielke covering, is a decision that the Celtic manager will have to make. Nawrocki has suffered a string of ailments since joining from Legia Warsaw in the summer for a reported £4 million. For Celtic, Carter-Vickers’ long-term back-row partner might be the Polish central defender.

This season, Celtic has suffered from injuries; nearly every player has missed time due to injury, which has prevented Rodgers’ club from being consistent.
