Celtic now ‘considering’ bid for Rangers linked star along with Everton, Middlesbrough and more

Fans of the Rangers and Celtics are eager to see what business their teams will be doing at this early stage as the January transfer window is now open.

Before the transfer window even started, Philippe Clement moved quickly to sign Wolves striker Fabio Silva on loan. The Hornets are now connected to a variety of players, including Aberdeen attacker Bojan Miovski and Nottingham Forest defender Scott McKenna. Brendan Rodgers is expected to target strengthening his squad this transfer window, and it is now rumored that the champions may team up with their Glasgow rivals to pursue a move for one of the Scottish Premiership’s standout performers this year.

Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, who has scored eighteen goals this season and has been strongly linked to a move to Ibrox, is now the target of Celtic, according to HITC. According to reports, Rodgers is a fan of the 28-year-old, and the team is ‘considering’ making an offer in January.

There seems to be more to this tale than meets the eye, too, as a number of clubs from across the border are rumored to be making their own bids. This makes sense considering the Scotland international’s goal-scoring prowess this season. The publication names no fewer than seven teams from the EFL Championship and the English Premier League.

These include fellow Premier League teams and relegation contenders Burnley and Sheffield United, as well as Sean Dyche’s Everton and Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace. Southampton, Middlesbrough, and Hull City are reportedly interested from the English second division.
