Celtic is on alert for a transfer as a covert meeting over Bayern Munich’s move raises hopes for financial windfall.

Bayern Munich could make a move involving Celtic this summer.

According to reports, Jeremie Frimpong has expressed a desire to eventually sign a contract with Bayern Munich, which could leave Celtic cash cowered.

After spending time in the Man City system, the right-back joined the Hoops in 2019. Due to his impressive play, Bayer Leverkusen acquired him in 2021 for approximately £11 million. As Xabi Alonso’s team strives for Bundesliga success, the right-back’s play has drawn notice from everyone, including the typically powerful German force.

Leverkusen is offering prospective buyers €40 million, or roughly £34.2 million. Such a fee would net them an additional little over £10 million with a 30% sell-on clause, considering that Celtic sold him for approximately £11 million. German reports have now made allegations against Frimpong.

Rumor has it that Hasan Salihamidzic, the former sporting director of Bayern Munich, met in secret with Frimpong during the 2022–2023 campaign. Since then, they have maintained their interest, but they chose to sign Noussair Mazraoui instead because he was a less expensive option. During that encounter, the former Parkhead player reportedly made a gesture suggesting he could picture himself in the Allianz Arena. Max Eberl, the new sporting director, is confident in his abilities.

Despite moving into attacking positions on the field, Frimpong has amassed an incredible 11 goals and 10 assists from his defensive position this season. In the round of 16 Europa League match against Qarabag on Thursday, he set off an incredible comeback for Leverkusen.

After falling behind 2-0 at home and 4-2 overall, he scored the goal that ignited the home team’s comeback. Then, in stoppage time, Patrick Schick scored twice to seal a historic victory and set up a matchup with West Ham in the round of eight.
