A second Italian team ‘approached’ Celtic for the in-demand forward, and the young player was’set’ for a Championship loan.

Como FC, an Italian Serie B team, is reportedly the most recent team to express interest in acquiring Rocco Vata, a highly sought-after Celtic prospect.

As he approaches the last six months of his Parkhead deal, a number of clubs throughout Europe are keeping a careful eye on the 18-year-old attacker, who can play as a winger or central striker. The adolescent sensation is destined to leave the Hoops permanently as they have not extended an offer to him for a new contract.

Vata is still coveted by Bologna, even after it was revealed that the Scottish champions had given the Serie A team permission to talk to the player about personal terms. The Republic of Ireland youth international would initially join Bologna’s second team if he choose to continue developing in northern Italy by reaching an agreement on a pre-contract or by moving immediately this month.

Como, on the other hand, has entered the contest and is hoping that the promise of first-team football on a guaranteed basis will appeal to Vata and influence his decision as they seek for promotion to the Italian top division.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that Como will compete with other Italian teams to sign Vata. “Irish talent Rocco Vata has been approached by Celtic for by Como FC,” he tweeted. As was disclosed last week, Bologna is eager to sign him, but Como can provide a different kind of project and guaranteed playing time. There will be discussions shortly.”

Meanwhile, Celtic B-team midfield ace Mackenzie Carse is poised to join Scottish Championship club Queen’s Park on loan until the end of the season. The highly acclaimed 19-year-old, who has started every game in the UEFA Youth League and Lowland League with Vata, will go to The City Stadium to get more senior experience. This season, he has scored seven goals in 18 games in all competitions.

According to Football Scotland, Celtic sees Spiders manager Callum Davidson as the best person to help Carse advance in the academy and want more of their potential to play at a higher level. He was part of the squad picture taken earlier this season and has previously trained with Brendan Rodgers’ first team.
