Cameron Carter-Vickers Celtic absence against Livingston is explained by Brendan Rodgers

Following his absence from today’s Scottish Cup match against Livingston, Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has been updated by manager Brendan Rodgers.

Unexpectedly, Stephen Welsh was added to the defensive line with Liam Scales, raising questions about Carter-Vickers’ health and possible injuries.

The United States international has had several fitness issues since undergoing surgery last summer and the last thing Celtic need is for him to be out for an extended period again.

Regarding Cameron Carter-Vickers, Brendan Rodgers

Before Sunday’s kickoff, the Bhoys manager said on Celtic TV, “It’s just a precaution, really.” He completed a whole 90 last Saturday after we helped him through the previous few weeks.

“He experienced a slight sensation throughout exercise yesterday. It was only a really, really light session.

We have other players that may enter the game, so we didn’t want to take any chances with him. As a precaution, we take him out, scan the area and hopefully, he’ll be okay.”

At least a significant problem has not been established, which is not entirely encouraging. Every supporter will be crossing their fingers in the hopes that the scan yields no results.
