In Buckie, a Braking Celtic Scottish Cup match twist as the Jags manager takes a chance SUSPENSION following a league match red card

If the Highland team manages a cupset at Celtic Park next week, it will be a seismic shock to the Scottish game as Celtic are predicted to easily defeat Buckie Thistle.

However, their already difficult challenge has been even more difficult after manager Graeme Stewart was dismissed during their Highland League match on Saturday afternoon against Huntly. In the past, Buckie made it to the third round of the Scottish Cup and came dangerously close to defeating Morton. Now, to advance to the next round, they need to overcome the treble winners from the previous season.

With 12 wins out of 14 games in their division, Buckie is having an amazing season and is currently fifth in the table just behind other clubs owing to a lack of games played. However, manager Stewart was sent off in the final moments of Saturday’s match against Huntly, who plays in Aberdeenshire.

Receiving his marching orders for walking on to the pitch to have a discussion with Huntly player Alex Thoirs, Stewart was sent to the stands to watch out the rest of the game, with emotions increasing after he claimed Thoirs had ‘threatened’ one of his players, according to The Sun.

The game was ultimately won 3-2 by Buckie, but they will have to wait and see if Stewart is fit to lead them in their match at Parkhead on Sunday. If not, he may have to watch Brendan Rodgers play from the sidelines.

When Jim Goodwin’s team lost to Lowland League team Darvel 1-0 previous season, many thought Aberdeen had suffered a major upset. Meanwhile, Celtic endured Scottish Cup humiliation when they lost away to Clyde in 2006.

However, a Buckie victory would surpass what occurred in Darvel, and Rodgers will be want to avert even the possibility of them visiting Glasgow and securing a draw.
