Brendan Rodgers banishes Celtic transfer question over key star

A Celtic transfer query over Matt O’Riley’s future has been refuted by Brendan Rodgers in the run-up to the summer transfer window.
The Danish international, who joined from MK Dons in January 2022, has been a standout performer. It’s said that Atletico Madrid’s attempts to sign the midfield player were rejected, and the focus now is on whether or not there would be interest in the summer. This season, he has made 38 appearances and has an outstanding 11 goals and 14 assists from midfield.

When questioned if the 23-year-old would draw attention in the upcoming months, Boss Rodgers answered. And he put any debate to rest with such an unequivocal response. Prior to this weekend’s Premiership match against St Johnstone, he stated: “Matt has looked better every year, and he has been fantastic for us this year.”

“I talk to the players, but there’s nothing I need to talk about that isn’t there. The season isn’t even close to ending yet. We are concentrating on this last stretch of the race. That is our sole priority.

Additionally, Rodgers stated that the team was in talks about giving talented young players Daniel Kelly and Rocco Vata new contracts. He continued, saying, “Creating a route for our young players to become the first squad is one of my main responsibilities here.

“Daniel has got slightly more opportunities than Rocco. Both players have demonstrated skill, but more significantly in my opinion, they have demonstrated a desire to grow, learn, and get better. Although I don’t have any updates, I believe that both players have had discussions with the team.”
