Brendan Rodgers Discloses Early Celtic Weight Issues for Nicolas Kuhn

The challenges that winger Nicolas Kuhn has encountered since joining Celtic from Rapid Vienna in January have been discussed by manager Brendan Rodgers of the club.

Many anticipated that the 24-year-old, who was signed for 3.5 million euros (Transfermarkt), would arrive and immediately make an impact, but at first, he accomplished none of those things.

Kuhn had a dismal 1-1 tie with Aberdeen, save for a deflected effort, but his early Celtic performances were far from stellar.
On Sunday, though, he received the go-ahead on the right and appeared capable of handling the assignment without Yang. Even though it was a matchup with Livingston, the German young international was excited to face his opponent and stayed animated when he received the ball.

In addition to setting up multiple additional chances, he helped Daizen Maeda for the Hoops’ opening basket.

After the game, head coach Rodgers discussed the attacker with the media, revealing that he had lost more than a stone since joining the Celts because he had just returned from a winter break in Austria. “When he first came in he was in the midst of his break and I think he said he’d lost seven kilos,” the manager said (RecordSport).

I believe he realized he had lost both his strength and his ability to sprint after dropping more than a stone.

“Nicolas is only now becoming comfortable.” You can tell that he performed well and was a little more upbeat, especially in the first half.

Now, I believe he feels fantastic. There is still some work for him to accomplish.

However, I believe you observed a far more aggressive side to his play in one-on-one situations, where he took opponents on and found the ball for Daizen’s goal. Indeed, that is more in line with our preferences. It’s merely adjustment. He will undoubtedly advance in due course, but that was excellent.

Celtic cannot afford to leave any players on the field as we approach a pivotal point in the season.

Previously, Kuhn was perhaps guilty of being one of those but at the weekend, he stepped up to the plate and delivered the quality you’d expect from a player of his calibre.

If he can keep up such consistency in his performances between now and the season’s end, things will only bode well.
