Keith Jackson anticipates a busy few days for Celtic during the transfer window!
Only Nicolas Kuhn, another winger following the summer acquisitions of Luis Palma, Marco Tilio, and Yang Hyun-jun, has made an appearance after three weeks.
Following Lazio’s November Champions League elimination, Brendan Rodgers disclosed that since his arrival in June, he had been searching for four exceptional acquisitions. KEITH: A transfer to Ibrox is still very much on the cards, and the Shankland situation will need to be properly monitored. However, Celtic will also be very busy in the coming days. Before the market closes, Brendan Rodgers should secure a No. 9 of his own.
As Oh Hyeon-gyu and Daizen Maeda are serving at the Asian Cup, Rocco Vata has unintentionally surfaced as Celtic’s backup striker.
The emergence of three more opponents in that position last season, following four appearances off the bench as a winger, appears to have persuaded the Irish u-21 international to see his future elsewhere.
Although Celtic’s plans for the rest of the window are unlikely to have been altered by yesterday’s goal against Buckie Thistle, Vata will be Kyogo’s backup while South Korea and Japan are competing in the Asian Cup. Jackson’s Number 9 prediction is still pending.
