A blow to Celtic prior to Livingston’s injury; Rodgers also updates McGregor’s scan

It appears that Callum McGregor, the midfielder and captain of Celtic, missed the recent match against Hearts due to a suspected calf/Achilles injury. He underwent a scan to determine the extent of the injury, but unfortunately, the results were inconclusive. As a result, McGregor is expected to remain sidelined until after the international break.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers provided an update on McGregor’s situation, stating that they had anticipated his absence until the international break. Despite the inconclusive scan results, they will continue to assess McGregor’s condition over the next few weeks. The decision on his return will depend on how he feels on a day-to-day basis.

It seems that Luis Palma, the winger for Celtic, might miss the upcoming match against Livingston in the Scottish Cup due to a knock he has picked up. Palma has been a significant contributor to Celtic this season with 23 appearances, scoring six goals and providing nine assists. However, he has recently found himself on the substitutes’ bench and was unused in the previous match against Hearts.

With Palma possibly unavailable, there could be an opportunity for winter signing Nicolas Kuhn to showcase his abilities. Additionally, Hyunjun Yang’s absence due to suspension might open up a chance for other players to step up. Daizen Maeda is likely to start, and Kyogo Furuhashi could potentially feature in a wider role to support striker Adam Idah in the upcoming match.
