Joe Hart, the Celtic keeper, is praised for his £1 million “bargain” and his retirement intentions.

Call Joe Hart a £1 million ‘bargain’ for Celtic?
The 36-year-old revealed yesterday that he will retire his professional career at the conclusion of the current campaign.

At the end of the season, the former England No. 1 will hang up his goalie gloves after three years in Glasgow.

He came from Tottenham Hotspur as one of Ange Postecoglou’s first acquisitions in the summer of 2021.

The legendary Pat Bonner of the Celtics believes it will be extremely challenging to replace him.

“It’s good that Joe has ended any uncertainty over his future,” he stated to the Scottish Sun.

Being a top professional, he now wants to give it his all to ensure that this is his last season with Celtic and that it is another successful one.

Joe traveled to Scotland in order to resolve a highly unstable situation at the club.

“They invested a significant amount of money in a keeper named Vasilis Barkas, but it didn’t work out.

“Over his tenure here, Hart has performed admirably in fulfilling Celtic’s requirement for someone in that role who could offer stability. He’s become an expert at making huge saves when it matters most.

It’s a big time for him. He has been excellent value for the money. A £1 million deal was a steal for his caliber of expertise in the Premier League, Serie A, and for England.

Along with Callum McGregor, he will be a leader in the Celtics’ locker room, therefore his absence will be felt greatly.

“I appreciate Hart’s demeanor and his speech pattern. He has always been a leader, both on and off the field.

Joe has demonstrated excellent leadership at Celtic by working diligently and acting morally. He’ll undoubtedly want to make the most of his last few months with the team.

“Celtic must now find a replacement, but how do you fill shoes this big?

“I doubt that anyone is using the system at this time. These days, I’m not convinced by the backups.

“Celtic will need to acquire a replacement, and locating a candidate with Hart’s caliber will undoubtedly be challenging.”
