Barry Ferguson is adamant that Fabio Silva must deliver “more quality” work before his Rangers contract expires.

Four years after arriving in a stunning £35 million trade from Porto, the Portuguese striker joined Wolves on loan during the January transfer window. With Danilo off for an extended period due to injury, the Gers were hoping he would provide them with more firepower, and he came with high hopes given the kind of price tag.

He shares striking responsibilities with Cyriel Dessers and has made eight appearances thus far. He has scored twice, once against Livingston, the bottom team, and once against Championship Ayr United in the Scottish Cup.Ferguson anticipated and desires to see the 21-year-old do a little better.

“I want to see a bit more from him, there’s no doubt about that,” he stated to Go Radio. He’ll put in a lot of effort for the squad, but I’m hoping for a little bit more quality.

It can take some players a little longer to get used to things, so maybe that will happen. If you sign for more than £30 million, you’re not a horrible player, but maybe in the upcoming weeks he’ll start to play a little bit more.
