Alan Brazil, a radio host, has discussed what he has learned on suspected issues at Celtic pertaining to transfers and Brendan Rodgers.
Since Celtic lost the Scottish Premiership title to Rangers, the club has come under increasing criticism. According to Brazil, there are significant issues with Celtic that need to be resolved.
Brazil stated to [talkSPORT]: “Look, I’m not sure what’s going on at Celtic right now. There is obviously a problem.
“I may be mistaken, but I’ve heard that money was needed to complete the pitch; Brendan Rodgers requested funding for players but was not granted it.
“However, these are only things I’ve been told; they might not be entirely accurate. But I am aware that something is off when I look at the outcomes.
Three issues at Celtic that need to be addressed
There are a number of things about the club that aren’t quite right, but these three, in my opinion, are the most problematic.
This season, Celtic’s transfer policy has been consistently mocked. Too many players who are obviously not good enough to play for the team have been purchased for far too much money.
After important players like Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate sustained injuries, Rodgers found it difficult to find substitutes who could perform well, and Celtic are now suffering as a result.
Another issue that needs to be addressed is the play’s style. Rodgers is attempting to play a methodical, slow-build brand of game with a club that was designed to play quick, fluid football.
It’s clear it’s not working since players with explosive skills like Yogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda are being undermined by this strategy.
Finally, but just as importantly, Rodgers needs to figure out how to unleash the full potential of Matt O’Riley and the Japanese striker.
O’Riley’s performance in the last five or six games has drastically declined, and Kyogo is nowhere near the goal-scoring form that we have witnessed over the previous two seasons.
These two players will be crucial to our league title victory, therefore Rodgers needs to focus on raising their respective statlines.
Brazil was correct; there are concerning issues at Celtic.
