Latest Celtic transfer news on Carter-Vickers, Owen Beck and Hakon Valdimarsson

Nicolas Kuhn’s arrival at Celtic this week was met with optimism about his future in a Hoops jersey.

The move also provided hope among the support that the recruitment would now step up as they seek both a striker and left-back to add to their ranks this month before the window slams shut. Brendan Rodgers has always been clear he wants readymade quality in the door in January and fans continue to wait patiently for the most part.

The big news coming this week, outside of Kuhn, was the reports suggesting Cameron Carter-Vickers was being considered by three Premier League clubs in West Ham, Brentford and Nottingham Forest. The American, 26, has two-and-a-half years left on his deal at Parkhead and they could cash-in, but it’s questionable as to whether they’d sanction that this month.

Football Scotland understands Forest are OUT of that race to bring in the defender but reports down south claim the other two named clubs remain keen.

Elfsborg goalkeeper Hakon Rafn Valdimarsson has been linked with Parkhead but Football Scotland, again, has been told a stopper won’t be considered until the summer and that Celts have not approached his club in Sweden as yet. Jung Ho Yeon has also been namechecked again.
