BREAK NEWS: Chris Jack expresses his “madness” assessment of the Ridvan Yilmaz to Galatasaray move.

According to Chris Jack, it would be “madness” for the Rangers to let go of Ridvan Yilmaz during the January transfer window without acquiring a successor.

Ridvan Yilmaz: Rangers will only sell left-back for right price, says Philippe Clement | Football News | Sky Sports
Ahead of the deadline on February 2nd, Ridvan is still associated with the Ibrox exit, and Galatasaray is reportedly optimistic about reaching an agreement [Milliyet].

If the Turkey international leaves, their only recognized left-back will be Borna Barisic, whose contract expires in the summer.

“Rangers simply can’t be left with only Borna Barisic,” Herald columnist Jack stated in an interview on The Rangers Review podcast [January 17, 18 minutes and 54 seconds].

“They must have someone inside the building before he departs, or they must have an agreement nearly finalized for someone to enter.

Rangers leaving themselves short would be insane. They can put the money back into the team if they can receive a respectable fee.

As the final phases of the transfer window approach, Ridvan’s future at Ibrox is very much up in the air with Rangers.

The defender’s departure this month would not cause anyone much anxiety, considering his tenure in Glasgow has been mediocre ever since he joined the team.

It would be wise for the Light Blues to cash in now if they could even turn a small profit or perhaps recover the transfer price.Even if it’s only for the next four months or so, Philippe Clement won’t want to be shortchanged in that area.

Summer transfer window business will place a new left-back toward the top of the priority list, especially with Barisic’s contract expiring in June.

Ridvan may need to be told that he will be available in the summer to any interested clubs, but until then, Rangers will undoubtedly cling onto him.

In other Rangers news, the manager of the player has stated that the team must now work to sign a “outstanding” player.
