Exclusive: Celtic working on four signings in stunning Jan blitz – first deal finalised

Sources: Celtic plot three more signings in stunning January blitz as Nicolas Kuhn completes medical

Funds are still available for Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers to do more business in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (12 January) that the Hoops’ signing of Rapid Vienna winger Nicolas Kuhn was a “done deal”.

It has subsequently been widely reported that the 24-year-old has arrived in the UK for a medical with Celtic – but it is believed Kuhn is not likely to be the last name through the door at Parkhead this month.

Celtic still want a goalkeeper with current number one Joe Hart out of contract at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

However, that deal may have to wait until the summer window.

Meanwhile, a new left-back and forward are also on the agenda for this month as Rodgers’ side target another Scottish Premiership title.

Those areas have been made the priority after the club’s recruitment staff wrapped up a deal for Kuhn – who plays on the right wing for Austrian giants Rapid Vienna.

Greg Taylor, 26, has started every Scottish Premiership game for Celtic this season at left-back.

Alexandro Bernabei was signed as backup in 2022 but is yet to make an impact at Parkhead in just 12 starts for the club.

Meanwhile, a forward is on the radar with Kyogo Furuhashi and Hyeon-gyu Oh the only out-and-out strikers on Celtic’s books.

Celtic

Rodgers’ side sit top of the Scottish Premiership with 54 points – eight more than bitter rivals Rangers.

The Hoops, who have been eliminated from European football this season, face Buckie Thistle in the Scottish Cup on Sunday (21 January) before taking on Ross County on 27 January.
