The scathing assessment of Nicolas Kuhn by Chris Sutton

Only Luis Palma of the new arrivals made an impression after the Irishman approved the summer arrival of seven mainly unproven acquisitions and saw Celtic crash out of Europe with one point from five games. Red cards were used to mark the debuts of Odin Thiago Holm and Gus Lagerbielke in the premier competition.

Upon arriving in June, Rodgers talked about the difficulty of winning in Europe and moving up to that level, but with Celtic being a mediocre team, it was hard to see where they had progressed.

After two poor transfer windows in a row, Celtic may be susceptible as their core group gets smaller and three important players from their treble-winning season are replaced by less talented newcomers.

Nicolas Kuhn, who has made about 50 senior appearances, appears to be Mark Lawwell’s first January addition. His experience is comparable to that of most summer signings, but he also has the advantage of having Ajax and Bayern Munich on his resume.

In the Austrian league, Rapid Vienna, where he currently plays, is presently ranked sixth, same as Hibs in the SPFL.

Chris Sutton tells Daily Record readers his initial response to the anticipated arrival of Kuhn, demonstrating that he doesn’t back down in the face of criticism or change his beliefs.

Postecoglou was in the lead. Hatate is and was a talented person. Riley Matt. When he was playing for MK Dons, nobody was really paying attention to him. In the same vein, Rodgers must now get ahead of the game by identifying this year’s Hatate and O’Riley instead of, respectably, Jeremy Toljan or Oli Burke. To me, Nicolas Kuhn seems like a project. Moreover, Rodgers has made it quite apparent that he prefers quality over initiatives. Thus, will the German resemble a Marian Shved or a Daizen Maeda?

When Kuhn and any other January additions make their Celtic debuts, fans eager to witness progress will be scrutinizing every detail, and expectations will be sky high.

With one week until Celtic’s match against Buckie Thistle and eighteen days remaining in the window, not only will the player be the center of attention, but the reputations of Mark Lawwell and Michael Nicholson are also in jeopardy. In the first week of February, Celtic will go to play away games against Hibs and Aberdeen when the transaction is completed.
