Rumors of a January transfer
To give his team the best chance of defeating Celtic to win the Scottish Premiership, Philippe Clement will undoubtedly be scouting possible new additions this month. Numerous players have been linked to moves to Ibrox in recent weeks. According to a recent rumor, Rangers are interested in acquiring Josh Doig, a left-back for Hellas Verona who first gained recognition at Hibernian as a teenager.
More defensive rumors have surfaced. In the latter half of last year, Everton center-back Ben Godfrey was mentioned as a potential target. Meanwhile, Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, who is currently having an excellent season, has also been mentioned as a potential alternative for Clement in the attacking role.
It appears that the Gers may be considering a January temporary transfer in order to add a fresh player, and they may be looking to the Premier League.
Rangers want to sign Owen Beck on a loan
If Andy Robertson returns in time for the Reds to enable Owen Beck to leave, Rangers are interested in taking the young player on loan this month, according to Liverpool reporter Dave O’Conell.
Owen Beck is being pursued by Rangers and Celtic on a loan. After making 17 appearances in the championship, the highly regarded 21-year-old attracted the attention of Scottish powerhouses Celtic and Rangers.

Given that Beck came through Liverpool’s development system and made two appearances for the first squad, which speaks something about his talent, he may be a huge help to Clement in a time of need. Although it doesn’t seem likely that Jurgen Klopp will want the 21-year-old to have to play a major role for his team at a crucial juncture in the season, Rangers can only hope Robertson returns soon and that the Merseysiders approve a loan deal.
In his 17 appearances for Dundee this season, the Englishman has already made an impression in the Scottish Premiership. Former Reds Under-23s manager Barry Lewtas has praised the player in the past, saying:
“I felt Owen was excellent. His growth over his tenure at the Academy, especially in the last few years, is a testament to his hard work and coachability since he pays attention to what we teach him and processes it.”
As the games pile up quickly, Beck may enter and provide Clement with a crucial extra left-back option. His training sessions with some of the best players at Anfield, including Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, might also be very beneficial.
