After serious information regarding the Brighton loanee’s future surfaced, Rangers want to make Abdallah Sima’s stay at Ibrox permanent, as reported by The Athletic.
The outlet said on its website on Monday, January 1st, that Philippe Clement’s team is eager to reach a long-term agreement to keep the 22-year-old in Glasgow after his current loan agreement ends at the end of the current campaign.
Due to Robert De Zerbi’s Brighton team’s current injury issue, which has left them “severely stretched,” it is unlikely that a permanent deal would be reached within the January transfer window.
Goal-scoring forwards are hard to come by in the Scottish Premiership, as demonstrated by Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers, and Danilo. The Light Blues would be extremely naïve to let their greatest finisher walk out of Ibrox at the end of the season without a fight.
By then, hopefully, Brighton’s dire injury situation will have improved, and both parties will be able to come to a compromise so that Sima can play for the Rangers for many more years to come.
