Rangers in fresh transfer link as £4m goalkeeper ‘wanted’ after previously attracting Celtic interest

Rangers are reportedly monitoring Standard Liege goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart for a potential summer transfer. Bodart, 26 years old and in the final year of his contract, has been a regular starter since 2019/20. However, he may seek a new challenge if contract negotiations with Liege fail. The Scottish club’s revamped scouting system, under Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen, is now eyeing the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, with Bodart on their radar.

Standard Liege could demand around €4 million if they agree to sell Bodart due to his recent senior call-up to the Belgium national team. Rangers are considering a bid, especially with fears of losing their current first-choice goalkeeper, Jack Butland, who has been outstanding and is attracting interest from the Premier League.

Bodart, despite not being widely known, has over 150 appearances for Liege and could provide strong competition in Rangers’ goalkeeping lineup alongside Robby McCrorie and Jon McLaughlin. He was previously linked with Celtic and received interest from French club Strasbourg as well.
