“Celtic’s £7.5m Keeper Deal: Rodgers and Nicholson in the Mix for Çakır Transfer!”

Celtic is reportedly eyeing Ugurcan Cakir as a potential successor to Joe Hart, who is set to retire from professional football. Brendan Rodgers is looking to fill the void left by Hart’s departure, and Cakir has emerged as a prime candidate from Turkey. The Hoops are said to have sought permission for talks with Cakir’s representatives and have arranged a Zoom call between the player and Rodgers.

According to the report, Celtic aims to secure Cakir’s transfer with a £7.5 million offer, with negotiations and details outlined in an email signed by Michael Nicholson. While Scott Bain and Benjamin Siegrist are backup options at Parkhead, neither has been able to displace Hart as the first-choice goalkeeper. Siegrist was previously linked with a January exit and could potentially depart in the summer in search of regular playing time, having struggled to cement his place since joining from Dundee United.
