COVENTRY City have signed young defender Kain Ryan on a free transfer following his departure from Brighton and Hove Albion last month.
The 19-year-old centre back has signed a deal with the Sky Blues until June 2025 and will initially link up with City’s under-21’s side.
Ryan joined Brighton from Derby County in November 2021 and made the step up to the Seagulls under-21’s side at the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
Ryan said: “I’m really happy. It’s a new beginning and a new chapter for me and hopefully I can kick-on from here.
“I just want to get back to playing football and play as many minutes as I can and get back to where I was and performing well.
“I can’t wait to get started, it’s an exciting time for me and I’m looking forward to what the future holds.”
