Football kit news from the Championship: as part of the club’s retro collection, the iconic Hummel Coventry City 2 Tone 2019–20 third shirt has been reissued.
To commemorate the 40th anniversary of 2 Tone, a Coventry-based music movement that saw the fusion of new wave, punk rock, and genres including ska and reggae, the 2019–20 Coventry City third kit was issued.
2 Tone music became well-known thanks to bands like Madness, The Beat, Bad Manners, and The Specials.
The 2 Tone music scene included a large number of mixed-race bands at a period of racial unrest in Britain.
The lower portion of the Coventry City third shirt for 2019–20 is coloured black, while the upper portion is white.
In the centre is a black and white checkerboard stripe.
The “Nutty Dancer” is located on the back of the neck, and the Kick It Out anti-racism logo is located inside the neckline.
