According to The Guardian, West Ham are looking to increase their homegrown quota by signing up to eight new players this summer.

Up there with worst ever West Ham signings' Jacob Steinberg posts angry tweet about 1 Hammer

On April 29, Jacob Steinberg reported on the paper’s website that Coventry City’s attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare is on the Irons’ radar, with the club reportedly impressed by the data the 25-year-old has generated as they focus on the Championship for British signings.

The Englishman has impressed under Mark Robins this season after returning from a cruciate ligament injury earlier in the season, with the Sky Blues manager describing his two goals against Sheffield Wednesday as “brilliant” [beIN Sports, 6 February], out of a total of ten goals and four assists.

O’Hare’s contract expires this summer, and Steinberg says he is “expected” to leave the Coventry Building Society Area, with West Ham now interested in signing him.

West Ham are preparing to replace David Moyes.

With David Moyes expected to be replaced at West Ham, it appears that the transition from one era to the next will be extensive if technical director Tim Steidten leads a comprehensive overhaul of the squad.

The German has clashed with the Scot in his year in London, and transfer windows appear to have been affected. However, eight new arrivals would make the Irons squad look very different under a new manager.

Julen Lopetegui remains a popular choice, while Hansi Flick is emerging as a potential contender.

Flynn Downes may be perplexed if the club is looking to stock up on players who fit his description two years after his disappointing move from Swansea. However, O’Hare’s addition would be useful if whoever replaces Moyes is ready to use him.
